Terra Sancta Estate, Jackson's Single Block Pinot Noir 2014
Terra Sancta means sacred earth or special place. This is where crafting wine in one of the most privileged parts of the world, Bannockburn, Central Otago (NZ) takes place to deliver award winning wines right to your table.
Named after Slapjack Creek, a water source that began in the ranges above the vineyard and once ran alongside Slapjack Block, the soils on Slapjack are dense with glacial schist with some clay through to quite significant depths. Slapjack Block contains the very first planted vines in Bannockburn with the soils, vine age and a mix of clones making this Pinot Noir truly unique. With vivacious wild berry flavors, bewitching spice aromas and a finessed, silky finish, the old vines marry with Slapjack soil to create an opulent powerful wine.
This wine has an intense deep crimson colour with aromas of plum and dark cherry laced with old world hints of cedar and liquorice. The palate is densely packed with flavours of forest fruits, cherry and earthy tones of mushroom, lavender and wild thyme.Vintage: 2013
